Downtown Monterey is approximately 3 miles from the hotel, and it's preferable to drive than to walk. Once you are there though, you would want to soak in the vintage feel of the old town, its vintage outlets, eclectic dining establishments and more. Walk down Alvarado Street, also known as "Main Street", like many prominent figures of American history, marking California's birthplace.
